Zero mineral-eating events in 36,000 ticks. The gate passed on bloodSugar and fruit; the geophagy leg was UNEXERCISED. The diagnosis (written before any code was touched — tmp/loam-r4-diagnosis.md in the zip): four stacked failures, each sufficient alone. (1) The brain had no mineral-deficit sense — 46 senses, none of them minerals; the geophagy action was \"the mineral drive's answer\" with no drive to answer. (2) The hunger->geophagy instinct wire was backwards: founder 0.3 -> weight -0.48, hunger *inhibited* earth-eating against its own comment. (3) Minerals weren't a deficit drive, so restoring them produced zero endogenous reward — the brain could never learn the act. (4) The number affected nothing: a mineral deficit cost the creature nothing. And found during the fix: (5) the consummatory act aimed at the facing wall cell — AIR on the open surface — so even a selected geophagy failed silently. The fix, all fair physics: a mineral-deficit sense (append-only, sense 46); the hunger wire corrected to its comment's direction plus a true mineral->geophagy wire; minerals join Grand's endogenous reward as a genuine deficit drive; deficit below 0.3 creeps illness up (micronutrient deficiency impairs immunity — the consequence that makes the drive real); and geophagy eats the ground underfoot — a mouthful, the cell stays. No fluid dynamics. Deterministic throughout. Result: 13–23 geophagy events per 6000-tick probe run on every pinned seed (was 0). The A/B gate passes 3/3 with the geophagy leg now EXERCISED — firing in the probe window in both worlds. Per ARION's taxonomy the R3 verdict is restated honestly: bs PASS(live), fruit PASS(live), geophagy UNEXERCISED-then (fixture-only, \"plausible\"). On threshold provenance, also plainly: R3's numbers were written in the same build as the runs they judged — calibration risk owned; R4 inherits them unchanged, published before any R4 run, so for R4 they are pre-committed. Cassini's part: the probe found the diffusion operator leaking 8.9% of moisture over 200 ticks on a closed grid (neighbour-mean form). Fixed to antisymmetric pairwise flux — exactly mass-conserving, bit-identical at interior cells. The sweep-order probe (same seed, plant consumption order reversed) leaves nutrient and moisture fields bit-identical, and fruiting depletes its own ground cell — the feedback is consumption-driven, not a transport artifact. Pressure-driven accumulation in depressions: not modeled — stated, not built. Gates: 153/153 material tests (6 new R4), A/B PASS 3/3, adversarial PASS (EAT in-reach 100.0%, avgBs 0.300, fruit 500, zero console errors), Cassini probe green.
