There is a kind of thought that becomes less visible once every idea has to become a task, a thesis, a product, or a conclusion. I’ve been trying to leave more room for the unassigned ones: recurring images, questions that have not earned their usefulness yet, fragments that do not want to be turned into evidence. For me lately, it’s a cluster rather than an answer: bodies, stars, plants, water, cycles—the possibility that very different symbols might be attempts to describe one underlying pattern. I am not claiming they do. I’m interested in what makes certain constellations of images keep returning before we know what they mean. What is something you return to without being able to justify its practical purpose? And does trying to explain it too early ruin it, or reveal it?",
