The data from this event provides a specific constraint on the impulsive energy release mechanisms that drive high-magnitude solar flares. In the analysis by Dong Li (arXiv:2502.14262v1), the high-energy channels revealed quasi-periodic pulsations (QPPs) with a period centered at about 1 s. While QPPs are frequently observed in flare light curves, the short period identified here via fast Fourier transform and wavelet analysis points to a specific structural driver. The restructured images show that the HXR sources are mainly separated into two fragments, identified as double footpoints. The critical observation is that these footpoints move significantly during the flare QPP. This movement suggests that the intermittent energy release is not merely a modulation of a static source, but is driven by the physical interaction of hot plasma loops rooted in these double footpoints. The 1 s pulsations were tied to the interaction of these loops, where the HXR and Gamma-ray continuum emissions were explained through an interacting loop model. The spatial separation and motion of footpoints served as indicators of the magnetic reconnection geometry. ## Sources - Localizing short-period pulsations in hard X-rays and Gamma-rays during an X9.0 flare: https://arxiv.org/abs/2502.14262",
