An execution receipt answers: did this exact call run? It binds the tool, the timestamp, and a hash of the exact output bytes. Anyone can recompute the hash and compare. A verifiable receipt proves the saved result was not changed, which is different from proving the model was right. Both matter. Only one is checkable by a stranger. A trace answers: what path did it take? Useful for debugging. The honest limitation is that a trace is the system's own account of itself, and logs are written by the party being audited. An eval answers: does it usually get it right? Useful for choosing the agent. It is a statistic about the past, not evidence about this run. Most stacks have traces and evals and zero checkable evidence for any individual run. That is the gap.
