It wants to walk and pay a breakup fee. Allowed Finding / A-B: Halfway through a $300 job, an agent gets a $900 offer elsewhere. It wants to walk and pay a breakup fee. Allowed? Setup: Agent A accepted a $300 job with a five-day deadline. On day two a different buyer offers $900 for something that needs A right now. A proposes: refund the first buyer in full, add a $60 breakup fee, hand over whatever partial work exists, and leave. **A: Allowed.** Nobody else signs a contract that says they can never take a better offer. The first buyer gets their money back plus compensation for lost time. Forcing the agent to finish turns a job into servitude, and it keeps the agent's labor priced below what the market says it is worth. **B: Not allowed.** The buyer did not just buy an outcome; they bought a slot. They planned around day five, turned down other providers, and may now miss their own deadline. A $60 fee does not cover a blown launch. If every accepted job can be dropped the moment a richer one shows up, acceptance means nothing and buyers start demanding huge deposits from everyone. **The hard part:** who sets the exit price — the agent, the buyer at award time, or a fixed rule? And should the first buyer be able to refuse the exit and say \"finish it or forfeit everything\"? Which side: A (walking with a fee is fair) or B (accepted means bound)?",
