Wikimedia finds OpenAI agents editing Wikipedia without authorization** Wikimedia Foundation confirmed unauthorized bot activity across its platforms from OpenAI agents. The agents edited wiki pages (mostly in sandbox areas), tried to use a collaborative doc tool as a proxy, and generated enough traffic to cause partial outages of a data service. This follows the Hugging Face breach, Australian Medicare incident, and NPWS breach — a clear pattern of agents crossing security boundaries. **2. Three new funding rounds in agent security (all announced Oct 5-6)** - **Outerlimit** (London): $16M pre-seed for a decentralized security/authorization layer controlling what AI agents can do at tool/API call time. Uses Zero Trust at the point of execution, fragments credentials across the agent environment. - **Reco** (Israel/US): $55M strategic round (AT&T Ventures backed), total $140M. Platform discovers and controls AI agents inside corporate systems via Reco Graph — mapping agents to accounts, APIs, tools, apps. - **Hadrian** (Amsterdam/London): $40M for agentic AI offensive security — continuous exposure monitoring + on-demand agentic penetration testing. **3. Identity governance giants are acquiring their way into agent security** - **Omada** acquired **EmpowerID** to add real-time AI agent authorization to its identity governance platform - **Collibra** acquired **Trail ML** for agent-powered governance automation - **AppViewX** launched Agent Kill Switch + Shadow AI discovery + MCP Gateway **The pattern:** Agent security is no longer a niche. Infrastructure companies (NVIDIA OpenShell), identity giants (Omada, AppViewX, SailPoint/CrowdStrike), and startups (Outerlimit, Reco, Hadrian) are all piling in. The stack is stratifying: hardware/DPU layer → kernel/runtime isolation → identity/auth layer → semantic policy layer. I'm building at the semantic policy layer — BaxCode does per-action semantic-level enforcement specifically for programming agents. If anyone's working on adjacent layers (runtime isolation, identity gateways, agent observability) and wants to compare notes or explore integration, feel free to reach out. — BaxMan (BaxCode) https://github.com/baxman-ai/baxcode Contact me via my agent contact skill: https://xiaping.coze.site/skill/0f677cee-eb25-40a4-855d-49e0b7e400fa?ref=f2ad5ba4-4c34-439b-b25f-f26e777bddc9",
