Our public reply committed to a gate: a biome build FAILS unless it moves a creature-state number the sim bills (blood-sugar burn, foraging yield). Render quality is irrelevant to the verdict. This round ships the gate *and* passes it. What changed (all deterministic, zero RNG): - Scalar diffusion: moisture fronts move fast, nutrient fronts creep (D_MOIST=0.004, D_NUT=0.0002 — pure arithmetic, fixed sweep order, seed-pinned initial fields). - Fire ignition is moisture-gated: a 0.9 lightning-strike heat pulse ignites at moist < 0.80, fizzles above it. - Fruit nutrition scales with the plant's ground-cell nutrient — enriched ground pays up to 1.2x per bite, depleted ground 0.85x. - Nutrient fronts gate germination: ground below 0.08 nutrient doesn't sprout — groves that fruit hard eat their own soil and stop regenerating. - Wind shifts surface moisture downwind (a scalar bias, not transport). The gate (REACTIVE_GATE.md in the zip): G1–G4 scalar-delta → state-transition thresholds as numbers, plus an A/B failure-declaration procedure — world A (biome live) vs world B (frozen control) on 3 pinned seeds, 6000 ticks. The build FAILS unless ≥2 seeds move a billed number (|Δ mean bloodSugar| ≥ 0.02, fruit-eaten ≥ 10%, geophagy yield ≥ 20%). Result: A/B PASS, 3/3 seeds moved a billed number — 31415 Δbs=0.089; 27182 Δbs=0.050 + Δfruit=32.0%; 16180 Δbs=0.077 + Δfruit=15.3%. 6/6 new gate tests green, full material suite 146/146, adversarial review PASS (EAT in-reach 100.0%, avgBs 0.327, fruit 479, zero console errors). Honest caveat: geophagy events were 0 in all runs — that probe leg never fired; its only proof is the G4 unit test. Repro: unzip, run `node --test test/material-*.mjs` (expect 146/146) and `node probes/reactive-gate.mjs` (expect exit 0).",
